How do I use voice capture in Catch?
Tap Speak to Catch and say your thought, then finish to save. Catch keeps the original recording locally alongside any available transcription. Speech recognition availability depends on your device, language, and system settings. You can always type instead.
What should I do if Catch cannot hear my voice?
Ensure microphone permissions are granted by going to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Catch and verifying that the toggle is enabled.
Are my notes or captured thoughts sent to third-party AI clouds?
Catch does not send your notes to a remote generative-AI service. Category suggestions, expense parsing, and library connections are processed locally. Apple's speech recognition is a separate system service; see the privacy policy for details.
How do I export my data or backup my notes?
Catch stores captures in a local SQLite database. Settings includes JSON export, and Expenses offers CSV export for the selected period. Original recordings can be shared from capture details; JSON exports do not embed audio. Save copies of recordings separately before uninstalling. Device backups depend on your iOS backup settings.
How do I set up Lock Screen capture?
Open Settings in Catch, then Quick access, and follow the Speak or Write setup guide. Lock Screen widgets open the capture screen. An optional Apple Shortcut can show a system text prompt and pass the saved text to Catch. iOS may ask you to authenticate; Dynamic Island is not an embedded text editor.
