Last updated: October 13, 2026 · Effective date: October 8, 2026
Milestone is developed and operated by Mathur Harsh Ramnaresh (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy describes how information is handled when you use the Milestone iOS app, its widgets and Live Activities, or contact us for support.
1. Overview
Milestone’s core productivity features run locally on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your missions, tasks, saved ideas, focus history or app preferences. A Milestone account is not required.
The app does not include advertising networks, third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell or rent personal information or provide it to data brokers.
Apple processes purchases and may separately process information through its services. You may also choose to share content or contact us for support. These activities are described below.
2. Information stored on your device
Milestone stores information you enter and information generated by its features, including:
- Your display name, if you enter one.
- Mission names, dates, categories, milestones and progress.
- Tasks, completion records, reminder settings and archived missions.
- Saved ideas and Vault entries.
- Focus-session history, timer state and productivity summaries.
- Timer durations, notification settings, sound preferences and other settings.
- Cached purchase-entitlement status used to enable Milestone Pro features.
This information is stored in local iOS app storage, including UserDefaults. The app shares relevant information with its widget extension through a local iOS App Group container.
Milestone uses this information to provide its features, calculate progress, remember preferences, display reports, and operate timers, reminders and widgets. The app does not automatically send this information to us.
3. Widgets and Live Activities
Milestone uses WidgetKit for mission widgets and ActivityKit for the focus timer’s Live Activity. Depending on the feature, information displayed can include mission titles, categories, countdowns, progress, task information or focus-timer state. The focus timer is not offered as a Home Screen widget.
The information needed by widgets is shared locally between the app and its extension. Live Activities are created and updated on-device; the current app does not use a developer-operated remote push service to update them.
Widget content may be visible to anyone who can see your Home Screen. Notification and Live Activity content may also appear on your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island, depending on your device and settings.
You can remove widgets and manage notifications and Live Activities through the controls provided by iOS. Consider using mission names that you are comfortable displaying on your device’s screen.
4. Notifications
With your permission, Milestone schedules local notifications for focus and break completion, daily mission reminders, mission deadlines and task reminders. Upcoming timer phase alerts are pre-scheduled on-device in a finite queue that is refreshed when you use the app; this does not require a developer-operated notification server or additional data collection.
Notification content is generated on-device and may include mission or task information. We do not receive that content through a developer-operated push-notification server.
You can change available reminder settings within Milestone, or disable notifications and restrict notification previews in iOS Settings → Notifications → Milestone. Notification permission is optional and is not required for the app’s core productivity features.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Milestone offers optional Milestone Pro purchases, including monthly and annual subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase.
Apple processes purchases through the App Store and StoreKit. The app uses transaction and entitlement information supplied by Apple to verify purchases, unlock paid features and restore purchases. Entitlement verification and the app’s cached access status are handled on-device using StoreKit.
We do not receive your payment-card details, bank-account details or Apple Account password through Milestone. Apple may provide the developer with sales, financial and other App Store reports. Those reports do not provide access to your locally stored mission or task database.
Apple handles billing, purchase records, subscription management and refund requests under its terms and privacy policy.
Deleting Milestone does not cancel an active subscription. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple Account subscription settings.
6. Audio and device permissions
Milestone generates its focus soundscapes locally. It does not access your microphone, record audio or upload audio recordings.
The current app does not request access to your contacts, camera, location or photo library. Using the iOS share sheet to send or save content is a user-initiated action handled by iOS and the destination you select.
7. Sharing reports
Milestone lets you share supported productivity reports through the iOS share sheet. Sharing is initiated by you, not automatically by the app.
Shared reports may include mission details and productivity statistics. Review the content before choosing a recipient, app or destination.
Recipients and third-party services may retain copies and handle them under their own privacy policies. We do not control those copies or receive a copy merely because you use the share sheet.
8. Backups and Apple services
The current version of Milestone does not provide app-managed iCloud synchronization.
Depending on your settings, iOS may include local app data in an iCloud Backup or a computer backup. Apple or you manage those backups; we cannot access them. Backup retention, restoration and deletion are controlled through the applicable backup settings.
Apple may independently process App Store or diagnostic information according to your settings and its own privacy practices. This is separate from uploading your mission or task database to us.
9. Support communications and external websites
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send, including your email address, message and attachments. We use it to respond, investigate issues and provide support.
Our email service provider processes correspondence to deliver and store messages. We do not sell support correspondence or use it for advertising. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information.
We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the request, maintain relevant support records or meet applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion using the contact details below. Information retained to meet a legal obligation is limited to what is necessary for that purpose.
External links open websites whose hosting or other providers may process information under their applicable privacy notices. This app policy does not mean that external websites have the same on-device-only behaviour as Milestone.

10. Retention, deletion and your choices
App data remains in local storage until you remove it through supported app controls or delete the app. You can edit or delete supported items within Milestone.
To remove the app’s installation and local data, use iOS’s Delete App option rather than Offload App, which can retain app data.
There is no developer-held copy of your mission or task database to recover if local data is lost. Check your device-backup arrangements before deleting the app or changing devices. Restoring a purchase restores eligible paid access, not your mission or task history.
Deleting the app does not remove previously shared copies, separately retained backups, Apple’s purchase records or support messages you sent us. Manage those copies with the relevant recipient, backup service, Apple or the developer.
Because we do not receive your local mission and task database, we cannot remotely access, correct or delete it. For information you send directly to us, you can request access, correction or deletion by contacting us, subject to applicable law.
You can withdraw notification permission through iOS Settings and remove widgets from your device.
11. Security
Milestone relies on iOS app sandboxing and platform storage protections for local information. No storage or communication method is completely secure.
Protect your device with appropriate security settings and consider the information visible in widgets, notification previews, Live Activities and shared content.
12. Children’s privacy
Milestone does not require an online account or automatically transmit a child’s mission, task or focus information to us.
If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through a support request, contact us so we can review the request and delete that information as appropriate.
13. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when features or information-handling practices change. Updates will be published at the policy URL below with an updated date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before introducing materially different information-handling practices.
